Arsenal set to change transfer policy and wage structure

Arsenal’s hierarchy and manager have been under great pressure from fans this term after the club further fell behind the likes of Manchester United, Manchester City and Chelsea in the title race. In fact the club are now behind arch rivals Tottenham in the league table and are in danger of losing out on a champions league place.
The Telegraph, however, reports that the club are now ready to break their wage structure and shatter their transfer records in order to lure top talent to their club. The Gunners were reportedly willing to relax their wage structure by paying Robin Van Persie around £140,000 a week last year, and are now believed to be  willing to do the same if the right talent comes along.
The two players who have been linked with the club are Borussia Dortmund’s Mario Gotze and Fiorentina’s Stevan Jovetic. The duo are likely to be have very high transfer prices but with a kitty of £70 million at his disposal, Arsene Wenger may have just about enough to bring them to  London.
Moreover, with players such as Marouane Chamakh and Andrei Arshavin poised for an exit, a lot of room will be freed up in the club’s wage bill thereby facilitating these two mega signings. Although it is tough to predict this one since a lot of clubs will be interested in these players, one does feel that the fans would welcome this new approach in the transfer market.
